Did you ever see that show on HGTV called "Double Take"?
It's where they take a room done by a real designer, and try to copy the look but for much less money. Oh yeah, that's pretty much what all of us bloggers do, right :)?!!
Well, that's just what I decided to do for my new Master Bedroom Makeover!
I usually come up with my own decorating design, but this inspiration was SO good and the show made it look SO easy, that I thought I'd give it a try!!

The soft gray-blue walls, the brown toile, the traditional decor with an updated twist....
all fits perfectly with my "fresh classic style", as I like to call it!
Just so you remember, here's my bedroom with the ugly orange-brown walls before:

Beautiful bamboo roman shades and the most lovely brown and cream toile "curtains" you ever laid your eyes on!
*sigh*
I'm LOVING this!!! :)
It really updates & softens the whole room!
The "curtains" are just fabric cut straight from the bolt and clipped up with the curtain rings.
No hemming or lining done here!
Maybe in the future, but I've got other things to tend to first!!
This same fabric will also be on some euro-style pillow shams for the bed, too, to tie the room together a bit.
In case you wanted to know:
Paint: Sherwin-Williams "Reflection"
Bamboo Roman Shades: Target
Fabric: Laura Ashley English Country Print -- I've found at JoAnn's and Calico Corners (use a coupon for both places!)
Curtain Rod and Rings: Bed Bath & Beyond (a brushed antique brass finish) -- Cambria Collection Adjustable Drapery Rod
My Master Bedroom Makeover is coming along!!

How pretty! And I love that you haven't even hemmed the curtains. Sounds like something I would do.
It's really coming along beautifully, Stacey! Great work!
I'm curious what you decided to do about your decorating dilema from the last post too! :)
Have a great week!
Blessings,
Shilo
Gorgeous.
I have some Euro shams; where is the cheapest place for the pillows?
Jen,
I got mine for $9.99 each at Target!!
Hope this helps :)
Blessings,
Stacey
Wow! You are definitely on your way, girl, to having a FABULOUS copycat room . . . I think yours might look a tad better, though! I think I like your wall color better, and I looooooove that toile! Can't wait to see it all together!

Eek! I've been wondering where you've been. ;) You've been working in that room! It's really coming along. I can't wait to see how you do the Euro shams. :)
If you get a chance, this would be a great "solution" (to orange walls!) to link to my Decorating Dilemmas party. I'm going to post it tonight after 10 (ET), but it will be up all day tomorrow too...with a giveaway. ;)
It's looking good. Love that fabric.
I copy cat all the time. I used to read all the decor magazines for great ideas. Then, most of my favorites stop publishing. THEN I found blogs. Yippeeeeeee! So much more fun than a magazine :)
Love your blog and all your ideas. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

I love the brown toile, it is so dramatic yet soft. It will be fantastic when it's done. And yes we all copycat, isn't that what decorating shows, magazines and blogs are for. To give us inspiration when we are dry.
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
Oh my goodness, your master bedroom is looking fabulous! I love that paint color. I am thinking of using that in my master when I get to that project. I'm looking forward to seeing the other projects in there.
Hi Stacey,
wow, love your curtains they are
very pretty. I really like that look. Decorating today is so much
easier isn't it, with all the clips and stuff for your curtains.
I actually did a swag shower curtain once with green gingham look sheets and safety pins, and it looked great. Course, it has a liner underneath and the swag just framed it. Everyone commented and
loved it. Easiest curtain I ever did. Can't wait to see the rest of your room when your done.
Hope you are really enjoying your
new home and neighborhood.
Blessings, Nellie
So beautiful! You have inspired me to go to Target and finish my windows for goodness sake!!
I only wish they sold the shades online, casue I would do it RIGHT NOW!
I absolutely LOVE how your room is coming along. The toile is FABULOUS!!! I could do those kind of curtains....cut from the bolt, ring clipped and hung...PERFECT!!!!
I ADORE that inspiration pic. And your room is looking beautiful! How many yards of fabric did you need for that window? I always wonder that--have never bought for a window like that.
I love how your room is coming together!! I have never done a room just as I saw it somewhere, but I am very inspired by certain looks, paint, fabrics...I now want to copy your paint color...hmmm, does that make me a copy cat or just inspired by your beautiful room? lol. I can't wait to see it all complete...just beautiful!!! Have a wonderful day and time working on your other to-do's.
Hugs to you friend,
~Victoria~
It is beautiful so far!!! I love everything you have chosen!!! Can't wait to see the finished room!!!

Stacey, so pretty. Loving that color on the walls and the toile curtains. Your MB is coming along wonderfully.
I did a copy cat of a MB from JCPenneys. They had the most wondefu black and creme toile bedding that had splashes of red in the throw pillows. The bedskirt was checked black and creme gingham. Loved it then, but now I am wanting to go for a lighter palatte. I might have to do post on MB one of these days.
I have that same picture in my files! LOVE IT!! Can't wait to see the finished product.
I can see it already...so excited to see how it comes along.
