Instant Ancestor Saturday

Good Morning! Well, we're home at last from our trip, and a day of cleaning, birthday parties, and fantasy football drafts awaits. Guess which of those I get to do? :) haha! Wish I could sit and be a dreamer today....

Meet Violet for today's Instant Ancestor Saturday! She comes from a well-to-do family and tolerates lessons on being a "proper" lady from her mother. Violet would much rather be daydreaming out the window and sketching with her drawing pencils! She has such a dreamy look about her, doesn't she?!

Here's hoping everyone has a "dreamy" Saturday, too! :) Leave me a little comment and let me know you stopped by for a visit--I just love to hear from you!!

Blessings,

Stacey

  1. Too funny...I, too, collect instant ancestors. How could their actual family members let these priceless photos end up in an antique store? Well, people like us to the rescue! : )

I,too, participated in The Nester's mistreatment party. Feel free to take a look. You'll have to scroll down a bit to see. Great fun!

  2. I love it when you post these "ancestors"! So funny! How do you display these in your house? I've been wanting to buy some but I don't know what to do with them.

  3. I too love old photographs, people have asked why I want old pictures of people I don't even know, well......as you say, I think of them as instant ancestors. I feel I'm doing a good deed giving these people a family to stay with, haha... it has always amazed me how family members let these old pictures go, I just can't imagine!
I purchased a big box of very old photos one year, I used very thin ribbon and sorta wrapped it around each photo like a present, I used those old pictures for decorations for my christmas tree, it was just the cutest thing ever.

  4. Hi Stacy,
I don't mind at all if you mention the ancestor Christmas tree idea. Luckily I keep those photos stored inside so I just got them out and took some pictures to show people and gave a couple more ideas, you'll have to check out the post.

Hope you have a great Sunday,
    Tracy

  5. I do love the dreamy look on her face. It is so fun to take a minute to remember that these people were just as real as we are, even though they look so different and almost mythical somehow. I love it! But that might be the history teacher in me!
