It's {REALLY} Fall, Y'all!

Happy 1st Day of Autumn!

It's officially the beginning of autumn today, even though so many of us have been preparing for weeks now! My family went to the city Farmer's Market on Saturday and got several pumpkins to put in the house and enjoy! I put several tiny ones in this old sewing drawer, and added a vintage handkerchief, skeleton key, and vintage leaf pin that I got at the Junk Bonanza :). (Still needs some bittersweet or somethin', but it's a cute, compact little arrangement & I like it!)

Melissa over at The Inspired Room is having a fall linky party going on, so I thought I'd join in!

20 Little Things to Treasure in Autumn:

  1. there is a crispness in the air
  2. pumpkin & apple picking (cider mills if you're lucky!)

  15. Very pretty arrangement in the drawer! I enjoyed reading your list. I live in the South so my favorite thing about fall would have to be the relief from the summer's boiling temps!

  16. My family is Italian and Catholic and therefore doesn't eat meat on Fridays or Christmas Eve. We always have a huge seafood meal on Christmas Eve. One of my favorite dishes is fish salad which contains octopus, calamari, shrimp and conch. It usually has a dressing of olive oil and either vinegar or lemon juice. Very Delicious!

  19. That arrangement is so pretty; great for welcoming fall days. One thing I love in fall is filling my soup tureens with homemade soups. And I love to pull out my cute pumpkin bowls to serve them in. Of course, living near Montgomery, Ala., I may have to crank up our air conditioning to put a chill in the air so soup sounds good to my family. :)

    And DECORATING for it!!

  21. I love that 80 degrees in September is so much more manageable than 80 degrees in July. There's a crispness to the air, and the possiblity of needing to wear a sweater later in the evening. Yummmm.
