Back to the Drawing Board...

Sometimes when you're decorating a space things don't quite go as planned...

Ever happen to you??

Oh, how I loved this Pottery Barn light in the catalog! It looked so beautiful online, too! I couldn't wait for it to arrive for over my kitchen table, I just knew it would be perfect for my design.

But it really really wasn't.

Poo.

Let's just say that it didn't look the same as was pictured by PB. Disappointing. And it looked a little too big for the space, too. *sigh*

So.....

Now I've been shopping like crazy all over trying to find something with the right "look" for the kitchen.

I have a few things in mind.....Gotta see what Hubby thinks now.... :) !!!

Hopefully I'll have something to show you soon...

Keep your fingers crossed!

{and can i just say that it is REALLY hard to not jump to other projects in the rest of the house in the meantime!!!!!! good thing i have y'all to keep me accountable!}

Oh, Stacey, that light is so beautiful. . . I know you must have been so disappointed that it wasn't right for your space. But GOOD FOR YOU for not settling for something that wasn't right! It takes a lot of guts to get something that you really like and then admit that it's not quite right in your home. A lot of people would settle for a look that's not good just to be able to use a fixture they love.

Keep on keepin' on! Can't wait to see your beautiful finished kitchen!

It is a nice light in the catalog. I agree with Richella. Good for you for not settling for something just b/c it showed up. ;)

I have Decorating ADD...I move to too many projects at once. ;)

Hey, Stacey, looks like you got moved & are settling into your new house. Congrats! Sorry this light didn't work out, but maybe you'll find something even better.

Thanks for stopping by!

Isn't it disappointing when that happens? Sometimes in my mind I convince myself that something will work...even though I have doubts. I'm glad you are realistic and moving on to something you will like more.

oh bummer. It does look pretty. We recently had a "HUGE" thing not work out. Several years ago we bought property and began building our "dream" home. We are building in phases and just moved into the first phase almost two years ago. When we went to submit the plans (recently) for our second phase they had changed the codes and were requiring some things that were going to cost a lot of money, soooo we went back to the drawing board, and cut down and simplified things.

That was so hard to do, because I loved our original plan! But it's all going to be fine and it's not the building that makes it a home anyways.

Happy sunday Stacey,
Sorry about your light. Isn't it so strange how you can love something so much and think it is gonna be perfect then get it and go yuk, not at all what I thought it would look like. I know exactly what you mean, I have recently been going thru that as we have tried to put the finishing touches on our bathroom redo. Exasperating I might say! I have bought and taken so much stuff back, but finally I think we are set. It is very disappointing and frustrating when you are trying to finish up and seems like you keep getting stalled by something, but when it finally comes together you are just that more elated!! lol
Will be praying you find that perfect light fixture that makes your heart sing and at the right price to boot!!
Stick with this room till you finish and you will be glad. We are pretty much done accept for some touch up painting but I want to get it finished so we aren't just living with it for months thinking well, it isn't that big a deal. You know how that goes.......
Praying you finish soon, so then you can happily and guiltlessly move on to another room. lol
Blessings hon,
Nellie
