Junk Trip - Day 1

Wow! What an amazing adventure I've been on!! Just got back a little after 10:30 pm last night after a very long travel day and luggage that didn't make my connecting flight (got dropped off at my house at 4:30ish am, grrr..), but it was such an incredible trip!!

I honestly had the best time, and this junkin' trip is one I'll never forget!

We were greeted at the airport by Valarie, of Red Shed Antiques!

The Red Shed Girls did an amazing job of making sure every minute of our trip was going to be incredible, and it was!!

(Kelly, Kay, & Michele M.)

Talking & meeting each other at the airport. Some of the girls knew each other, but many did not. New friendships were formed this weekend :) We had the best time talking, shopping & laughing together! Junkers are the nicest people!!

(Sheri, GiGi, & Marcy meeting)

This was one of 2 Junk Mobiles loaded with suitcases! We all brought an extra suitcase filled with bubble wrap to hold our shopping goodies from the weekend--it's a wonder the van door closed!

We stayed in lovely suites at the Marriot Residence Inn. After checking in...

...we met for dinner in the courtyard and got to meet Amy (ALVN of WhisperWood Cottage). She's a college prof. who's studying the health benefits of junking! How fun is that?! I had "met" her online, and it was so cool to meet her in person!
"Dr. Amy"

After dinner we talked w/ Amy some more, and got to know each other better!

Here's me and Margo (aka Robolady) from Margo's Junkin' Journal!

We laughed and laughed, and shared funny things about ourselves. There was a former beauty queen, someone has an obsession with collecting ranch dressings, one person is a former kissing cousin (!), and another could recite all 50 states in alphabetical order! Names have been omitted to protect the innocent!! :)

After most of the group decided to call it a night, a few of us did a "drive-by" of the Junk Bonanza! We were so excited to go we couldn't wait till the next morning :) We ended up getting to go inside and do a "sneak peek" at the AMAZING junk, AND....

....got to say "Hi!" to Ki Nassauer, of Junk Bonanza/Junk Revolution! What a sweet gal--she took a few minutes to chat and take a pic with us before finishing her work for the Bonanza the next day!

(Valarie, Christy, me, Margo, and Ki w/ "Sandy" the horse!)

I could barely sleep that night, waiting for the Junk Bonanza to open!

Well, that's it for Day 1! I'll give a few more pics every day this week, along with tales from the rest of my adventures!

Blessings,

Stacey

Looks like you had so much fun! My only problem would be deciding what I could buy and what I had to leave behind. I'll bet you had the same problem!

Great post, Stacey! Not sure about that expression on my face, but what can a girl do? I truly enjoyed meeting you and spending time talking "junk" and family. I'll be back to visit your blog often! :)

Hi Stacey--so sorry to hear about the luggage problem. Still, it was a wonderful trip! Bet your girls were thrilled to see their Mom. What a great day 1 recap! Made me happy just to read it. So glad to have met you--look forward to talking to you online.
